5 Years Happily Married

Here we are on our wedding day 5 years ago. It was such a beautiful and fun day! We celebrated our anniversary together in Naples, FL this year. We re-created our ceremony and recited our vows. We did this on our first anniversary together in Naples as well. It is amazing how time flies by so quickly.
Our decorated "altar" for the ceremony and beautiful Florida flowers.

The bride and groom...and our soon-to-be daughter! Isn't Fer sweet?
We had sangria on our wedding day, so Fernando decided to keep with tradition and ordered a glass with our seafood dinner at The Dock. Yes, the restaurant is right on a dock, open air next to the water. Very pretty and yummy food!
We wished ourselves another 45 plus years of marriage together. It was a nice day even though it rained ALL DAY...very strange for FL! We each picked out a dessert at The Fresh Market for our wedding cake. Fer had cheesecake and I had a chocolate mousse cake.

Pregnancy Timeline

So for my first post I thought I would start with a timeline of my belly. And no... this baby is not a souvenir from our trip to Spain/Italy in March. All of this started after we returned.
2 months (May '08): We told my parents after the first appointment with the doctor at 8 weeks. We were celebrating my Dad's birthday over breakfast at our house. We gave him and my mom each a card. The one to my Dad said, "Happy Birthday from your Grandson?" and the one to my Mom said, "From your Granddaughter?" Inside each card was the ultrasound picture. No sooner did my Dad finish reading his when my mom shrieked with surprise and joy. My grandparents were also there and got to experience the news first as well. After that breakfast we started telling everyone in our families. 3 months (June): We started sharing the news with friends and co-workers.
4 months (July): My belly starts to show and I have to give up and buy some maternity clothes (pants mostly)...sigh... We cannot wait to find out if we are having a girl or a boy! I am incredibly thankful that I am not hugely pregnant during the hottest months. I used to be cold all of the time...not anymore!
5 months (August): We find out on August 6 that we are having a GIRL!! I was sure it was a boy. The office poll was 50/50 for boy/girl. We are SO excited and cannot believe it. The ultrasound pictures will be posted in another post. First little butterfly movement felt.
6 months (September): Obviously pregnant at this point. The comments start from people...annoying ones and nice ones...I get asked daily when I am due and what I am having, etc. No longer is it butterflies...those are kicks! She likes to move around in the morning and evenings...or if I have eaten something sweet! What can I say, she has her mom's sweet-tooth already!
7 months, almost (October): I am getting tired of pregnancy already. I knew I was never going to be someone who enjoyed pregnancy. It is harder and harder to sleep. I have never liked sleeping on my side so I am finding that to be the hardest part. I must say it is very cool to feel her kicking! It is certainly surreal seeing your stomach move. We are taking a long weekend trip to Naples, FL to celebrate our 5th anniversary (Sept 28). Our last anniversary just the two of us...without worrying about a sitter!
I will continue to post the belly progression here on out as well as other tidbits from our lives. I thought this was at least a good start!
